Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 20 May 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to The Slab Lab. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.
2. Company Information
The Slab Lab is operated by THE SLAB LAB LTD, a company registered in England and Wales.
- Company Number: 16940122
- Registered Address: Lytchett House 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, United Kingdom, BH16 6FA
3. Privacy Policy
Your use of The Slab Lab is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using our platform, you also agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.
4. About The Slab Lab
The Slab Lab is an online collectibles platform that allows users to purchase mystery packs which each contain one guaranteed, real, physical graded trading card ("Slab"). The Slab Lab is not a gambling service. All purchases result in the allocation of a physical collectible.
5. Eligibility
- You must be 18 years or older to use The Slab Lab. You will be required to provide your date of birth during registration, and we may verify your age at any time.
- You must provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account.
- You must verify your email address before you can access the platform's features. Unverified accounts will have restricted access.
- Only one account per person is permitted.
- We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that breach these rules.
6. Packs & Mystery Mechanics
- Each pack guarantees one real graded slab.
- Pack tiers include published rarity bands and probabilities, displayed before purchase.
- Slabs are assigned at random from live inventory based on the selected pack's rarity bands using our provably fair system (see Section 7).
- Once a slab is assigned to a user, it is removed from future availability.
- A pack tier may be temporarily unavailable if any of its rarity bands have no stock. Availability is displayed on the tier page.
No outcome is guaranteed beyond the published rarity bands.
7. Provably Fair System
All slab assignments on The Slab Lab use a provably fair system that allows you to independently verify the fairness of every pack opening.
- At the time of purchase, a server seed is generated and its cryptographic hash (SHA-256) is committed. The hash is displayed to you before you reveal your pack.
- You may optionally provide your own client seed before revealing, ensuring that neither party can unilaterally determine the outcome.
- After the reveal, both the server seed and client seed are disclosed, allowing you to verify that the committed hash matches and that the card selection was deterministic.
- Full verification details, including the algorithm and pool hashes, are available on the provably fair page of our website.
8. Transparency & Odds
- All rarity bands and rarity probabilities are displayed prior to purchase.
- Odds may be user-specific due to fairness mechanisms (for example, dupe cooldowns) and current inventory.
- Displayed odds reflect the user's current eligibility at the time of viewing.
Odds may change if inventory changes or if user-specific modifiers apply.
9. Cooldowns & Fair Access
Dupe Cooldown
To improve user experience and reduce excessive duplicates, slabs recently pulled by a user have temporarily reduced odds for that user ("Dupe Cooldown"). Dupe Cooldown does not remove slabs from eligibility entirely — it reduces their selection weight, meaning they are still possible but significantly less likely.
- Dupe Cooldown lasts for 24 hours per slab, per user.
- If a user collects all available slabs in a given rarity band, all cooldowns for that band are reset, allowing fresh pulls.
- Cooldown details are displayed transparently in the user interface where applicable.
Purchase Cooldowns
Our inventory of graded slabs is finite and certain rarity bands, tiers, or individual slabs can become scarce. To make sure all customers have a fair opportunity to purchase from limited stock, we may apply purchase cooldowns to individual accounts. A purchase cooldown is a temporary pause or rate-limit on further pack purchases.
- Purchase cooldowns may be triggered automatically by our systems, or applied manually by our team, when continuous, high-volume, or otherwise stock-depleting purchasing patterns are detected.
- The duration of a purchase cooldown is set at our discretion having regard to current stock levels, your recent purchase volume, and how widely remaining stock needs to be shared.
- Purchase cooldowns are a fair-access mechanism, not a penalty, and do not imply any breach of these Terms. They apply equally to customers exhibiting comparable purchasing patterns.
- During a purchase cooldown you retain full access to all other platform features, including revealing existing packs, managing your collection, requesting shipping, and using buyback.
- Where reasonably possible, your account will indicate that a purchase cooldown is active and when it is expected to lift.
10. Payment Terms
Payments for pack purchases are processed securely via Axcess Merchant Services. All transactions are processed in British Pounds (GBP).
Payment Methods
- Card payment: We accept credit and debit cards as supported by Axcess Merchant Services. Payment is taken at the point of pack purchase and must clear before a pack can be revealed.
- Account balance: If you have sufficient account balance (from buybacks, referral bonuses, or other credits), you may use it to purchase packs without a card payment.
- Top-up payment: If your account balance partially covers the pack price, you may pay only the shortfall amount by card. Your balance will be applied first, with the remainder charged to your card.
Saved Payment Methods
You may choose to save your payment method via Axcess Merchant Services for faster future purchases. Saved card tokens are stored securely by Axcess Merchant Services — we do not store your full card details. You can remove saved payment methods at any time from your account settings.
3D Secure Authentication
Some card payments may require additional verification through 3D Secure (3DS) authentication with your bank. This is a security measure to help prevent fraud and is handled automatically during the payment process.
11. Decide Later
After revealing a pack, the assigned slab is held in a pending state until you make a decision. You may choose to decide later (holding the slab whilst you consider your options) or sell it back to us immediately (see Section 13).
- Cards placed in "Decide Later" are held for a maximum of 30 days from the date of the decision.
- During this period, you can: request shipping (see Section 17) or take store credit at 85% of the current guide price.
- After 30 days with no action, cards are automatically bought back at 85% of the guide price at the time of buyback (not at the time of reveal) and credited as store credit.
- Reminder emails are sent when 14, 7, 3, and 1 day(s) remain before expiry.
- The auto-buyback price is based on the guide price at the time of buyback, which may differ from the price at the time of reveal.
The Slab Lab acts as a custodian of slabs in "Decide Later" until physical delivery is requested or a buyback is completed.
11a. Grandfathering — Existing Cards
Cards placed in Decide Later prior to 25 March 2026are exempt from the 30-day rule and remain held indefinitely under the previous terms. The automatic buyback and expiry policy described in Section 11 applies only to cards placed in "Decide Later" on or after 25 March 2026.
12. Storage & Insurance
All slabs held in "Decide Later" are stored in a secure, locked, temperature-controlled facility. All slabs in our custody are fully insured.
- THE SLAB LAB LTD takes full responsibility for damage, theft, or loss of slabs whilst they are in our possession.
- In the event of damage, theft, or loss, customers will be compensated at fair market value, determined in good faith.
- Once a slab leaves our facility for shipping, our responsibility for it continues until it is delivered to you, in accordance with Section 17 (Shipping) and our Refund Policy.
13. Buyback / Sellback Option
After revealing a slab, or at any time whilst a slab is held in "Decide Later", you may sell it back to The Slab Lab. You receive 85% of the slab's current guide price as store credit, which can be used for future pack purchases and shipping fees.
Buyback rates are subject to change. The applicable rate will always be displayed before you confirm a sellback.
- Sellbacks are treated as a resale transaction, not winnings or prizes.
- Sellback transactions are irreversible once completed.
- Slabs sold back to us are returned to the available inventory pool and may be assigned to other users in future pack openings.
14. Account Balance
Your account balance is held as store creditand is made up of buyback credits and referral bonuses. Store credit can be used towards pack purchases and shipping fees.
We reserve the right to withhold, freeze, or forfeit account balances where fraud, abuse, or policy breaches are suspected, to the extent permitted by law.
15. Withdrawals (Retired)
Withdrawals to a UK bank account are no longer offered. New buybacks are paid as store credit only, which can be used towards pack purchases and shipping fees.
16. Referral Programme
Eligible users may refer new users to The Slab Lab using a personal referral code. The referral programme is subject to the following terms:
- Referee benefit: New users who register with a valid referral code receive a 15% discount on their first pack purchase.
- Referrer reward: Once the referred user completes their first purchase, the referrer receives a £5.00 store credit added to their account balance.
- Each referred user can only use one referral code, applied at registration.
- Self-referral, multi-accounting for referral abuse, or any attempt to manipulate the referral programme may result in forfeiture of referral rewards and account suspension.
- We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the referral programme at any time without prior notice.
17. Shipping
We currently ship to the United Kingdom only. We do not offer international shipping at this time.

- If you purchase a pack but do not reveal its contents, you may request a refund for the pack price within 14 days of purchase by contacting us at info@theslablab.co.uk.

21. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account:
- You must keep your login credentials confidential and must not share them with anyone.
- We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication (2FA), which is available in your account settings. 2FA provides an additional layer of security using a time-based one-time password (TOTP) via an authenticator app.
- If 2FA is enabled, you will be provided with single-use recovery codes. Store these securely — they are the only way to regain access if you lose your authenticator device.
- You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorised use of your account where you have failed to keep your credentials secure.

- All purchased packs must be revealed (or refunded if purchased within the 14-day cooling-off period).
- All items held in "Decide Later" must be shipped or sold back to us.
- Any remaining store credit balance will be forfeited upon account deletion.
Once these requirements are met, we will process your account deletion within 30 days in accordance with UK GDPR. We may retain certain data where required by law (for example, tax and transaction records).

Where we take action under this clause we may, depending on the circumstances and to the extent permitted by law: refuse or cancel orders, withhold or forfeit account balances, rewards, or pending payouts, retain slabs awaiting a decision or shipment, reverse buybacks, suspend access pending investigation, or permanently close the account. We will normally notify you of the action taken by email, except where doing so would prejudice an investigation or breach a legal or regulatory obligation.
